Grand Canyon

We have spent a lot of time thinking about what the Grand Canyon is like. We have looked at photos, seen video clips and read books. Nothing though beats actually seeing the Canyon for yourself. The vastness of it, the constant changing moods with the changing light levels, the different angles that it can be seen from. It was beautiful to behold.

When looking at the different rock layers and the way that they could have been formed during creation and during the flood, it speaks of God's greatness and glory.

We had a walk along the rim trail in the morning, saw some other parts of it during the afternoon and even had the opportunity to walk down into the Canyon to Cedar Ridge - on the KaibabTrail. Joshua, Laura, Monica and I (Gordon) (Shana had injured her knee and was not able to  do the walk) woke up before dawn and caught the bus to the visitors centre and then to the head of the trail. We saw the sun rise at 7:29am from the top of the trail and then walked down to Cedar Ridge - downhill all the way. It was awesome to descend into the canyon and experience it from a different angle again. It calls to you and makes me want to come back to go further and longer.
Her are some photos.
