Beginnings

Hi All
The best of intentions do not not all ways end up in results. That is how we have found updating the blog. When on the road traveling with 6 children and having time to update a blog - it was just to much so it never got done. It would be good to pass on a few pics though and a brief overview of where we have gone and done. So here goes.

We took off from Perth airport after a bit of a fuss. We checked in very early and the checking lady asked us if we had filled out the visa waver form yet. We had not, and she wanted us to go online at the airport and fill it out before we checked in. So after working through a slow Internet connection we got it sorted - only to find out later on that we could have done it all on the plane on the trip across. Grrrr.

We managed to see parts of the WA coast as we traveled towards KL. Below you see a photo of the tip of Shark Bay - the western most point in Western Australia. It was exciting to see it from the air.

We landed in KL and after waiting for our luggage found out that in Perth our gear had been directed straight through to Los Angeles. We ended up in our rooms at the hotel in a steamy Kulua Lumpur - something to look forward to when we return again later on the trip.  We ended up in 4 different rooms - not connected - not the best sleeping arrangements - but it was only for the one night.

The humid weather was not very comfortable when all you had to wear was the jeans that we wore in the plane. Something to think about on the return trip - take a change of clothes with me straight away - since we will also be landing at midday.

The children really enjoyed the opportunity to pic and chose for their breakfast. They had not had this opportunity to have a buffet breakfast before and they had difficulty choosing. It was very nice to have a leisurely meal before heading back to our rooms to spend the time away till we needed to get back to the airport.

The children loved the flying as well and went well. They enjoyed the different meals and the video's and games they could play. Even Deanne did fairly well and had a good sleep on the plane.
